Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking qualified perioperative support staff for per diem evening shifts in Massachusetts. Under supervision, you will assist in OR setup, skin prep, patient transport, and stock management to ensure safe, efficient surgeries.

Training will be provided, with emphasis on infection control and teamwork. The role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and coordinating with the surgical team to maintain sterile conditions and timely case turnover.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
• Applies critical thinking towards daily planning, case preparation, and equipment and patient safety.
• Proficiency in reading and writing in English is required to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

• Assist in transfer and positioning of surgical patients.
• Clean and restock operating rooms and equipment between cases.
• Perform skin preparation and assist with spinal anesthesia.
• Transport specimens and deliver blood products as needed.
• Maintain sterile supplies and ensure room readiness and safety.
• Participate in department quality improvement activities and mandatory education.
