Job summary

The Village of Lemont is seeking a part-time Meter Reader/Technician to support our utility services. You’ll read meters for both commercial and residential customers, record readings, and report results along assigned routes, with occasional installations at Village properties and customer locations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently in varied weather and settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Strong communication and public-facing skills essential.
• Ability to analyze and fix meters and perform installations.

Responsibilities

• Read residential and commercial utility meters on assigned routes.
• Record and report meter readings accurately.
• Install and repair water meters and related equipment at Village properties.
• Work independently in various weather conditions and sometimes in customer locations.
