Job Title: Residential Meter Reader

Position Overview

The Residential Meter Reader is the position in the Customer Care Department that provides reads of the residential meters for the company’s client districts, by supplying accurate and timely reading.

Essential Job Functions

• Read residential meters in a timely manner and as scheduled
• Perform residential and commercial Rereads
• Perform work accurately with minimal supervision
• Replace stuck meters (Meter size: 1” and below)
• Assist Service Department by performing meter change out as needed (Meter size: 1” and below)
• Perform field service work as assigned
• Be able to work outdoors independently or as a team
• Special projects as requested

Education And Experience Requirements

• High School or GED
• Meter reading experience is beneficial

License

• Basic Water “Class D” License and/or be ble to obtain basic water License within six (6) months of employment
• Driver’s License with no moving violation

Other Skills/Abilities

• Computer proficient
• Ability to learn meter reading software and handhelds
• Be able to communicate clearly with customers and clients
