Job summary

Bermex, Inc. seeks a Meter Reader to read gas, electric, and water meters and inspect meters on customer premises. The job involves extensive walking outdoors and driving, with strict time frames, potentially regulated by DOT and background checks.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, at least 6 months outdoors or 1 year with the same employer, and must complete OQ training after hire. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 18+ years old.
• 1 year of continuous work with the same employer or 6+ months outdoors.
• Must complete and pass Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Read meters daily and on special basis at customer sites.
• Carry out readings within assigned time frames and manage routes.
• Inspect meters and report issues to supervisor.
• Walk long distances and work in various weather conditions.
• Assist training of new meter readers.
• Communicate with customers and provide information.
