Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI) is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (FLOAT) to support multiple Barrington-area locations. You will implement treatment plans under supervision, document patient progress, and collaborate with PTs and the broader IBJI team in an outpatient orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Hold current Illinois license to practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support as a FLOAT in Barrington and surrounding locations: Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Lake Barrington, McHenry, Wauconda, Grayslake.
• Carry out prescribed treatment plans and progress patient toward functional goals.
• Provide outpatient orthopedic care with attention to patient status and documentation.
• Document patient status per IBJI Rehab guidelines.
• Communicate with supervising PT about progression, discharge, and follow-up.
• Supervise Rehab Technicians and coordinate with clinical staff as needed.
• Maintain billing compliance and daily paperwork.
• Maintain active license via CEUs and IBJI-sponsored opportunities.
• Foster positive relationships with PTs and physician teams.
• Engage in IBJI programs, mentoring, and community outreach.
