Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant Float for multiple locations including Buffalo Grove, Bannockburn, Highland Park, Glenview, Morton Grove, Des Plaines, Chicago-Park Ridge, and Wilmette.

The full-time position supports therapists by carrying out treatment plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with physicians to optimize patient care in outpatient orthopedic settings. New grads are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• Current Illinois PTA license required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Ability to lift or move >25 pounds.
• Good understanding of body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing.
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
• Proficient with computer documentation and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans developed by the supervising PT.
• Provide outpatient orthopedic care and progress patient goals.
• Maintain progress notes, discharge summaries, and HEPS.
• Communicate with physicians and PT team about patient progression.
• Supervise Rehabilitation Technicians and support staff as needed.
• Ensure timely documentation of patient status and billing compliance.
• Maintain current state license via CEU opportunities.
• Foster positive relationships with PTs and physicians.

About Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC

Responsibilities

• Carry out treatment plans established by the physical therapist, including progression of patients to attain functional goals as deemed appropriate by patient status and normal progression.
• Provide exceptional care for patients in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting.
• Maintain written documentation on patient status per compliance guidelines of IBJI Rehab.
• Periodic written communication to physicians through progress notes and discharges after consulting with the supervising PT regarding assessment and plan, co‑signed by PT.
• Frequent communication with supervising PT regarding appropriate patient progression, discharge and patient follow-up.
• Supervise Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed.
• Comply with daily paperwork including documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP, etc.).
• Stay current with billing policies and demonstrate ethical billing practices.
• Maintain active state license by earning appropriate CEU’s through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities.
• Develop positive relationships with physical therapists and physician teams at IBJI.
• Takes an active role in the patient medical team by facilitating relationships with PT’s, MD’s and case managers as appropriately directed by supervising PT.
• Participate in IBJI sponsored programs including mentoring, clinical educator, special interest groups, community outreach, etc.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• Holds current license to practice in Illinois.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds.
• Demonstrate good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing.
• Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes.
• Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day.

Base salary offers may vary based on location, skills, and relevant experience.
