NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in Newport News, VA seeks an accounting/clerical professional to perform a range of duties supporting retail/services operations. Part-time work requires handling invoices, journal entries, and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

1 year progressively responsible clerical or office work showing satisfactory performance at the position level.
Experience with accounting processes and invoicing preferred.
Ability to compile and analyze sales, payroll, inventory reports.

Responsibilities

Performs accounting for assigned services and general expense departments.
Receives invoices for services, merchandise, supplies, and expense items; creates records and coordinates payments.
Coordinates and researches delinquent payments with vendors and CAC; processes monthly journal entries.
Compiles daily and monthly reports by department and location; reviews data for discrepancies.
Maintains files on NEX contracts and contractors; drafts performance evaluations.
Performs miscellaneous duties like purchasing and invoicing contractors; coordinates utility and telecom requests.
