Job summary

Ounce in Washington, DC is seeking a Part Time Community Navigator to work one day per week onsite with residents of affordable housing. You will engage residents, coordinate benefits, and connect people to health and community resources.

As a frontline representative, you will build trust with residents and partner organizations, document outreach and referrals, and help schedule services while prioritizing residents’ needs and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience navigating government benefits (e.g., SNAP, TANF, LIHEAP, Medicaid) and coordinating care with local organizations.
• Excited by boots-on-the-ground opportunities and community organizing; embedded in DC housing communities.
• Understanding of housing residents' challenges; ideally lived or worked in the area.

Responsibilities

• Outreach & Engagement Specialist: proactively engage residents, build trust, and use creative outreach methods.
• Benefits Specialist & Service Coordinator: help residents apply for benefits, schedule appointments, and track referrals in our platform.
• Relationship Builder: act as face of Ounce, coordinate with partners and ensure residents access services.
