Job summary

Pathways to Housing DC seeks an Outreach Specialist to engage individuals experiencing homelessness across Washington, DC, primarily in the community. The role focuses on engagement, crisis response, resource coordination, and housing navigation for those who may not seek services.

Youth outreach is a key component, identifying 18-24 year-olds and connecting them to housing and supports to improve wellbeing and independence. Late-night shifts and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients and partners.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to Housing First and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness through outreach.
• Identify and engage youth aged 18-24 for housing and resources.
• Provide assessments and connect clients to housing, benefits, and services.
• Maintain a caseload and develop individualized service plans.
• Advocate for clients to access services and housing opportunities.
