Job Summary

The Part-Time Nursing Faculty position is an on location, non-tenure track faculty member who serves as an educator-practitioner within the Department of /nursing. This position is primarily responsible for providing high-quality didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction in undergraduate evening nursing courses as qualified by education and institutional requirements.

The Part-Time Nursing Faculty position supports the teaching and service mission of the department through excellence in instruction, student advising, curriculum development, program evaluation, and participation in accreditation continuous quality improvement activities. Faculty are expected to maintain current clinical competence, professional licensure, and professional development consistent with contemporary nursing practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical nursing courses.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate course content and learning activities consistent with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and evidence-based nursing practice.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback regarding academic and clinical performance.
• Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress, licensure preparation, and professional development.
• Participate in curriculum development, program evaluation, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinical agency partners to support student learning and clinical education.
• Maintain regular office hours and participate in student recruitment, retention, and success initiatives.
• Maintain current RN licensure, required certifications, and clinical competency.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of nursing practice, teaching strategies, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution. A Baccalaureate degree in nursing will be considered with documentation of progress towards an earned graduate degree in nursing and have experience in the area of responsibility.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nursing license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Georgia.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned doctorate (DNP, PhD, EdD, or related field)
• Previous teaching experience in academic, clinical, staff development, simulation, or healthcare education setting.
• Experience teaching in online and/or hybrid learning environments.
• Experience in medical surgical hospital setting.

Proposed Salary

Salary is a per hour rate as determined by the department.
