Job summary

Valor Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to deliver primary care to veterans in a part-time capacity (3 days per week) at our West Kittanning, PA clinic. You will work under physician supervision to diagnose, treat, and manage patient care, including exams, orders, and patient education.

The ideal candidate has an MSN, VA credentialing, active BLS and DEA, and strong computer skills. Prior VA or federal contract experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and MSN program with preceptorship.
• Certified by an applicable professional organization.
• Minimum one-year clinical experience (three years preferred) as a CRNP within the last 4 years in a primary/ambulatory care setting; VA contract preferred.
• Must be credentialed and in good standing with the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
• Must hold a valid, unrestricted license in the state of employment or applicable U.S. state/territory requirements.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS as specified by VA contract; DEA registration.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Strong computer skills.
• Energetic and optimistic demeanor; strong service orientation; safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and treats our veterans under the supervision of a physician.
• Examines patients for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.
• Develops and implements patient management plans and ensures continuity of care.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests (x-ray, EKG, labs) and follows up on results.
• Counsels patients on medications, educates, assesses mental health, and provides routine health maintenance.
• Reviews patient records from external providers and coordinates co-managed care per VA rules.
• Completes clinical reminders and documents the medical record within 24 hours of encounters.
• Complies with VA guidelines for response to patient requests, alerts, consults, orders, labs, and studies.
• Follows VA formulary processes and consult protocols; adheres to training requirements.
• Supports clinic outreach and enrollment initiatives.
