Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital is seeking a part-time Security Officer for the night shift (3:30pm–12:00am) to protect staff, patients, visitors and hospital property. The role involves patrols, CCTV monitoring, and responding to emergencies within Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to make independent decisions and de-escalate situations in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• 1-year prior hospital experience preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Possess the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, patients and visitors.
• Perform alone or as a team member in the management of aggressive or violent behavior through non-abusive physical intervention.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc.
• Does Patrol Tours
• Monitors Close Circuit TV (CCTV)
• Responds to all Emergency Code alerts
• Other duties as assigned by manager
