Job summary

Penn Medicine Pennsylvania Hospital’s Security team is seeking a Security Officer I to protect patients, visitors, staff, and assets across campus. You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and support safety programs while delivering excellent service.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ACT 235 clearance, BLS certification, and de-escalation training. Join us to help maintain a safe, healing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• ACT 235 Clearance required or within six months of hire.
• BLS Certification required or within six months of hire.
• De-escalation training (CPI or HWC) required or within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas to ensure safety and security.
• Monitor for unauthorized activity, security breaches, and fire/life safety hazards.
• Respond to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, and hospital condition codes.
• Investigate and document incidents, suspicious activity, and safety concerns.
• Assist staff, patients, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service.
• Complete activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical teams during emergency situations.
• Support crime prevention and security awareness initiatives.
• Following required certifications, assist with de-escalation of volatile situations and other security interventions.
