Trinity Health's Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA, is seeking a Security Officer for the Day shift to join the Security Team. The role emphasizes protecting staff, patients, families, visitors, and property while supporting a safe hospital environment.

Responsibilities include patrolling, CCTV monitoring, responding to emergency codes, and collaborating with a team to handle difficult situations. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required, with hospital experience

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to deal tactfully with co-workers, patients and visitors.
• Perform alone or as a team member in managing aggressive or violent behavior non-abusively.
• 1 year hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in daily safety practices.
• Recognizes diverse needs of patients and communicates accordingly.
• Patrols areas to deter security incidents and maintain safety.
• Monitors CCTV and responds to Code alerts as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Position Purpose

The Security Officer is responsible for the security of hospital employees, patients/families, visitors, and property.

Responsibilities

• Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
• Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc.
• Does Patrol Tours
• Monitors Close Circuit TV (CCTV)
• Responds to all Emergency Code alerts
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Valid Driver's license in good standing
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
