Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a Part Time Security Officer to join our team. The Security Officer protects staff, patients and visitors and safeguards hospital property in a night shift role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• 1–2 years customer service experience in a hospital setting.
• Prior Hospital Security Officer experience preferred.
• Fingerprints and background check during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Serve our customers and provide high-quality service with care and courtesy.
• Treat customers/patients in a respectful manner.
• Report all accidents or incidents promptly.
• Correct and/or report any potential safety hazard you see.
• Take ownership for a safe, comfortable and clean environment.
• Makes appropriate safety and security rounds.
• Maintains watch on the employee parking lot.
• Opens/locks buildings as appropriate.
• Use/extinguish premises light & turn in a list of defective lights.
• Conduct/assist with missing person reports.
• Provide escort services to visitors.
• Maintain smooth control of traffic.
• Assist motorists involved in vehicle breakdowns.
• Maintains safety practices in the area of his/her assignment.
• Has oversight of the SOC (Security Operations Center)
• Handles duties associated with the operation of metal detector and wand.
