Job summary

Advocate Health Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a Nursing Assistant for part-time, night shifts on 12-hour rotations. You will support nursing staff with basic patient care, monitor vitals, and assist with daily activities to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include documentation in the EMR, patient transport, specimen collection, and helping with admissions, transfers and discharges under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR or hospital systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities for patient and family interactions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility, and positioning.
• Record vitals and other patient data; document accurately in EMR.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN; assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Collect specimens (urine, stool, sputum) and perform point-of-care tests as needed.
• Run errands, restock nursing area, and maintain equipment and patient belongings.
• Support patient nutrition, skin care, and positioning; assist with transfers.
• Assist with post mortem care as directed and follow infection prevention procedures.
