The Night Auditor at the TownePlace Suites Houston Intercontinental Airport is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work. Responsible for the front desk operation during the overnight shift (Typically 11pm-7am).
Essential Functions
- Register guests, make reservations, prepare daily reports, balance transactions, and conduct security walks.
- Initiate and complete the End of Day process.
- Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily.
- Balance the day's work (e.g., revenue, telephone postings, valet laundry, server and desk agent's paperwork).
- Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed.
- Transfer master or house accounts as necessary.
- Run morning reports according to MCR and Brand procedures.
- Complete any reports requested by management promptly.
- Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests, maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
- Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard.
- Answer guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours.
- Establish good communication and teamwork with colleagues and other departments.
- Assist with breakfast setup in select hotels.
- Respond to guest requests professionally and promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of guest and hotel information.
- Document guest requests, complaints, or problems immediately and notify the appropriate department, following up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Be aware of all rates, packages, and promotions.
- Be familiar with all in-house groups and high-demand/restricted dates.
- Take all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow rate quoting scenarios.
- Be knowledgeable of the front desk computer system.
- Log and deliver packages, mail, and messages.
- Be knowledgeable about the property, amenities, events, and local attractions.
- Accurately complete check-in and check-out processes.
- Use creative reasoning and brand service tools to overcome guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
- Restock front desk supplies as required or directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
- Problem-solving skills to deal effectively with customers.
- Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under stress.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to obtain alcohol awareness certification as required.
- Willingness to work varied schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Windows OS, approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
- Clear communication of information and ideas.
- Desire to serve guests.
- Legal age to serve alcohol (at select properties).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hotel or related field.
- Brand knowledge and experience.
