Job Description

The Night Auditor at the TownePlace Suites Houston Intercontinental Airport is responsible for the preparation and disposition of all Night Audit work. This includes front desk operations during the overnight shift (typically 11 pm - 7 am).

Essential Functions
  1. Register guests, make reservations, prepare daily reports, balance transactions, and conduct security walks.
  2. Initiate and complete the End of Day process.
  3. Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily.
  4. Balance the day’s work including miscellaneous revenue, telephone postings, valet laundry, and staff paperwork.
  5. Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed.
  6. Transfer master or house accounts as necessary.
  7. Run morning reports following MCR and Brand procedures.
  8. Complete reports as requested by management promptly.
  9. Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests, maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
  10. Maintain proper operation of the telephone switchboard and respond to guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours.
  11. Establish good communication and teamwork with colleagues and other departments.
  12. Assist with breakfast setup at select hotels.
  13. Respond to guest requests professionally and timely.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and security of all guest and hotel information.
  15. Document guest requests, complaints, or problems immediately and notify the relevant department, following up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  16. Be aware of rates, packages, and promotions, and be familiar with all in-house groups and high-demand dates.
  17. Take necessary information when taking room reservations and follow rate quoting procedures.
  18. Be knowledgeable of the front desk computer system and property amenities, including local attractions and events.
  19. Accurately complete check-in and check-out processes.
  20. Use creative reasoning and brand standards to overcome guest objections and ensure satisfaction.
  21. Restock front desk supplies as required.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  2. Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  3. Problem-solving skills for dealing with customers.
  4. Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work well under stress and in high-pressure situations.
  6. Basic math skills.
  7. Ability to obtain alcohol awareness certification if required by the state.
  8. Willingness to work a varied schedule including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  9. Proficiency in Windows OS, approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  10. Clear communication of information and ideas.
  11. Desire to serve guests.
  12. Legal age to serve alcohol at select properties.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in hospitality or related fields.
  2. Brand knowledge and experience.
