Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0–2 years in a medical setting or heavy customer service with data entry and insurance.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 90 days from start.
• Ability to obtain AVADE training offered by MLK Community Hospital within 30 days from start date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain complete demographic and financial information from patients and sources.
• Obtain signatures on legal consents and insurance forms.
• Enter data in computer and document incomplete admissions/registrations.
• Notify patients of insurance coverage issues and co-payments needed.
• Review physician orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed.
