Job summary

Hearing Screening Associates LLC seeks a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician to work in a busy NICU setting at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. The role involves performing newborn hearing screenings, coordinating with nursing staff and parents, and maintaining screening equipment.

Training will be provided, with shifts averaging 5–15 hours per week. The position offers flexible scheduling across weekdays and weekends with a weekend differential and is ideal

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year or more healthcare/childcare training or related college coursework is a plus.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and operate screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, patients, and parents to explain screening relevance.
• Analyze and communicate responses to issues per company and client needs.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment and assist with database management.
• Interact with hospital departments and follow HSA policies and procedures.
• Uphold conduct and compliance policies.
• Gain knowledge of Transient Otoacoustic Emissions and/or Automatic Auditory Brainstem Response technology after training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
