Hearing Screening Associates (HSA), part of the Demant Group, seeks a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician to join the NICU and well-baby units at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. The role involves infant hearing screenings, parental education, and data entry, with training provided.

Schedule: 1-2 weekdays and 1-2 weekends per month; shifts 4-6 hours daily, averaging 5-15 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year healthcare or childcare experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to learn hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Communicate relevance of screening to parents and nursing staff.
• Analyze and respond to problems in a professional manner.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment; assist with database management.
