Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital settings after birth. On-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification are provided.

The role is very part-time at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, with 2-3 days per week, 8-9 am starts, and 2–4 hours per shift. Responsibilities include conducting screens, educating families, documenting results, and coordinating referrals when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification (or ability to obtain upon offer).
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Provide education to parents on screening relevance and early intervention.
• Ensure readiness of the patient before screening; minimize time in the room without affecting quality.
• Document results accurately and complete necessary data for reporting.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred babies and coordinate follow-up appointments.
