Job summary

Demant, via Hearing Screening Associates, seeks a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician for East Cooper Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, SC. You will perform newborn hearing screens, educate parents, and record results in the hospital system.

Schedule: 2 weekdays and 1 weekend shift per week, about 15 hours total. Pay is $16.50/hour with a $1 weekend differential; training is provided to ensure proficiency with TOAE and ABR equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare or childcare training/experience welcomed.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to attend company training.
• Ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings in well baby and NICU units prior to discharge.
• Educate parents on the relevance of hearing screening and early intervention.
• Record patient information and screening results accurately.
• Maintain and operate hearing screening equipment and assist with data entry.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and other hospital departments as needed.
• Uphold company policies and compliance requirements.
• Apply training on TOAE and ABR technology after completion of HSA/hospital training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
