Job summary

Canyon State Electric is seeking an experienced electrician to teach NCCER apprenticeship curriculum at UCSE in Arizona. This limited part-time role runs two afternoons per week, starting January 2027, with classes Mondays and Tuesdays 4:00–6:00 PM plus setup time.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Master Electrician status required.
• Minimum 5 years in commercial/industrial electrical field.
• NCCER instructor credential or ability to obtain before January 2027.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to teach and mentor adult learners.
• Proficient with basic computer and LMS tools for recordkeeping.
• HS diploma or GED; additional credentials a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver NCCER Core and Electrical Level 1 curriculum via classroom instruction and hands-on labs.
• Backup instructor for Electrical Level 2 classes as needed.
• Prepare lesson plans, labs, and assessments aligned to NCCER standards.
• Evaluate apprentice performance and record completions in NCCER registry.
• Set up and maintain training equipment, tools, and lab materials.
• Model NFPA 70E and OSHA safety practices throughout instruction.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to support apprentice progression.
• Coordinate with UCSE Director on scheduling and curriculum updates.
• Maintain attendance, progress, and certification documentation.
• Communicate apprentice progress to program leadership and field supervisors.
• Maintain consistent availability for Monday and Tuesday sessions.
