Job summary

Propel Career Academy seeks a part-time Craft Electrical instructor to teach Electrical Worker courses on a semester-by-semester basis. Classes may be day, evening, or weekend at our San Antonio facility, with about 18–24 hours per week.

You will develop syllabi, meet with students, evaluate progress, and coordinate with administration. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 4+ years journeyman electrician experience, NCCER Instructor Certification or willingness to obtain ICTP

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 4 years of documented Electrician's journeyman experience; leadership/supervisory experience is a plus.
• Possess an Electrical Worker Journeyman credential or equivalent.
• Possess an NCCER Instructor Certification or be willing to complete ICTP and obtain NCCER CORE and Electrical Craft certificates.
• Willing to complete Green Apple Labs certification to teach Green Apple electrical labs.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Electrical Worker courses at a variety of times.
• Submits required reports and forms in a timely manner to Administrative Office.
• Assist in developing and utilizing the course syllabus for each course.
• Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment, via electronic communication or other methods.
• Evaluates students to measure progress toward course objectives and informs them of progress.
• Maintains professional relationships with students and colleagues.
• Continuously improves instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative teaching methods.
• Attends meetings, trainings and orientations as required.
• Responsible for other reasonably related duties as assigned.
