Job summary

Associated Builders and Contractors NorCal Chapter in Livermore, CA is seeking a full-time instructor to safely supervise apprentices in classroom and hands-on training. The role requires NCCER certification, a high school diploma or GED, and strong leadership and safety skills.

You will develop labs, coordinate field trips, and conduct job-site visits to ensure curriculum meets NCCER standards and industry needs.

Qualifications

Instruct and supervise apprentices safely in required classroom and hands-on training.
Must be NCCER certified to present classroom material.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Print, secure, administer, grade, and turn in apprentice exams and performance profiles.
Ensure safety protocols and appropriate PPE are followed at all times.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain labs for specific trades and manage materials and supplies.
Track and report on classroom tools, equipment, and materials to the Training Director.
Schedule and deliver hands-on classroom training exercises and authentic step-by-step procedures.
Identify supplemental instruction needs and design field trips for apprentices.
Coordinate special guest speakers and industry professionals for classes.
Conduct job-site visits to address issues and update curriculum as needed.
Attend career fairs and assist in recruiting new apprentices.
