Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc seeks an Electrical Instructor to deliver advanced classroom, distance learning, and field electrical training. You will teach complex topics, mentor instructors, and help develop curriculum for NCCER-certified programs.

The role includes managing apprenticeship operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting accreditation. Strong LMS, MS Office, and remote delivery abilities are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain NCCER Electrical Instructor Certification.
• Extensive journey-level or technician-level experience in construction craft construction.
• More than three years of successful experience teaching in a vocational/technical construction craft program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking, reporting, and delivering training.
• Ability to create, edit, and deliver digital training materials using presentation, document, and spreadsheet tools.
• Familiarity with virtual training platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom, WebEx).
• Strong general computer literacy, including file management and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in both in-person and remote environments.
• 6+ years relevant experience; some direct hire/search limitations noted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced classroom, distance learning, and field electrical training.
• Teach complex electrical topics including motor controls, distribution, transformers, and industrial systems.
• Maintain a professional, safe, and effective learning environment.
• Conduct student evaluations and ensure course outcomes.
• Mentor and support instructors and new trainers.
• Design and enhance electrical curriculum and training materials.
• Participate in accreditation and program documentation.
• Coordinate apprenticeship enrollment, scheduling, and progress tracking.
• Ensure compliance with apprenticeship regulations and documentation requirements.
• Lead development of advanced training content and assessments.
• Coordinate and manage training sessions for apprentices and supervision.
• Provide coaching and direction to instructors and collaborate with program leadership.
