Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Part-Time Nature Center Worker for Independence Oaks Park. This receptionist role also assists the Nature Education team with programming and events at the Wint Nature Center.

The position is limited to 1,000 hours/year and requires weekend, evening, and some holiday work. Responsibilities include greeting guests, answering phones, handling office tasks, and supporting program setup and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include being at least 16 years old and a high school graduate or GED, ability to obtain a US driver’s license, and passing the required employment medical exams.
• Experience with customer service interactions is desirable.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Answer guest inquiries and provide directions within the park.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock merchandise as needed.
• Perform receptionist tasks, answer phones, and assist with program setup and custodial duties.
• Support park safety and emergency procedures as directed.
