Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Parks Worker to join our team at Independence Oaks and Orion Oaks. The role includes routine maintenance, customer service, and facilities support in county parks with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.

You will operate groundskeeping equipment and assist higher level staff in park operations. The position is limited to 1,000 hours per year, paying $16.04 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ or 16+ with a high school diploma or GED; emancipated minor.
• Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s license or chauffeur’s license.
• Pass the complete employment medical examination.
• Must follow standard safety procedures and practices.
• Ability to work in a team and follow written/oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Answers guest inquiries and provides directions within the park.
• Keeps work areas clean, organized, and stocked with merchandise.
• Performs groundskeeping and maintenance tasks using power equipment.
• Operates or assists with park equipment and vehicles as directed.
• Supports safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
