Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Parks Worker to support Independence Oaks and Orion Oaks park facilities. This part-time position handles customer service, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance tasks in a outdoor setting.

Shifts are evenings and weekends; duties may include operating small equipment, assisting higher level staff, and providing information to park visitors. The job is limited to 1,000 hours per year with pay at $16.04 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must meet the age/education requirements as stated in the job posting.
• Must have a valid United States driver’s license; out-of-country licenses require Michigan license before hire.
• Must pass the complete employment medical examination for this classification.

Responsibilities

• Answers guest inquiries and provides directions within the park.
• Performs basic groundskeeping and maintenance duties as directed by higher level staff.
• Operates or assists with power equipment and hand tools as needed for grounds tasks.
• Keeps work areas clean, organized, and safe, stocking merchandise as required.
• Supports safety of park guests and participates in emergency response protocols as directed.
