Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Part-Time Nature Center Worker at Independence Oaks Park. The role combines receptionist duties with support for our Nature Education team, handling office tasks, greeting guests, answering phones, and assisting with program setup and cleanup.

This 1,000-hour-per-year position requires weekend, evening, and some holiday work. You will use county software to complete assignments while contributing to a safe, clean, and welcoming park experience.

Qualifications

• Must have passed 18th birthday or be at least 16 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid United States driver’s license and Michigan license before the hire date.
• Pass the required employment medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Answers guest inquiries such as directions, emergency procedures, and loss prevention.
• Keeps the work area clean, stocked, debris-free and presentable.
• Performs office duties: typing, answering phones, and filing.
• Assists with groundskeeping and maintenance using hand tools.
• Supports park guest safety and emergency protocols as directed.
• Uses county software to complete assignments.
