Job summary

Cape Fear Museum in Wilmington, NC seeks a part-time Visitor Services Assistant to greet visitors, answer inquiries, and support daily operations at the front desk. You’ll process admissions and memberships using the Altru POS, assist with reports, and help keep the lobby and retail area welcoming.

Ideal candidates are friendly, patient, with customer-service experience and comfort using POS systems. Saturdays are required with up to 19 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related customer service experience in a front-line role.
• Willingness to work Saturdays and up to 19 hours per week.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic data entry/reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and provide information about the museum in a welcoming, professional manner.
• Process admissions, program fees, and memberships using the POS; complete end-of-day reporting.
• Answer calls, direct inquiries, and take messages as needed.
• Prepare documents and forms; enter and maintain data in the system.
• Assist with the visual appeal and organization of the admissions desk, lobby, and retail kiosk.
