Job summary

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking a friendly Visitor Services Assistant to serve as an ambassador to our diverse visitor base. You will greet guests, answer questions, operate ticketing terminals, and support memberships and programs.

This full-time, non-exempt role offers $18.50 per hour, a 35-hour weekly schedule with weekends, evenings, and holidays. Candidates should display excellent customer service, dependability, and the ability to work across departments in a fast-paced museum

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Prior cash handling experience.
• Friendly and professional demeanor.
• Genuine interest in communicating with and assisting others.
• Dependability and punctuality are essential.
• Arts interest preferred but not required.
• Experience in hospitality, customer service and/or retail preferred.
• High School diploma, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet the public with warmth and orient visitors.
• Engage visitors in conversation about the museum.
• Operate ticketing terminals accurately.
• Assist visitors with tickets, admissions, tours, and events.
• Promote programs and sell memberships.
• Communicate effectively with visitors.
• Enforce PMA policies and respond to emergencies and alarms.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Assist visitors at coat check.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Attend trainings and meetings.
• Work in other departments during events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
