Job summary

Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is seeking a part-time Membership Services Representative to deliver exceptional member service and drive community engagement. You will respond to member needs, conduct tours, and promote memberships while embodying the Y's mission and values.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. CPR/First Aid training is provided or required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Understand YMCA mission and values and demonstrate them through actions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid (provided by the YMCA).

Responsibilities

• Responds to the individual needs of members and program participants.
• Provides top-tier service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention and acquisition.
• Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds positive relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
• Serves others by welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
