Job summary

YMCA of Memphis & The MId is seeking a part-time Membership Associate to deliver excellent service to members, guests, and program participants. You will promote memberships and programs, respond to member needs, and help maintain a welcoming lobby.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, conducting tours, processing sign-ups, resolving concerns, and coordinating with team to ensure a clean, organized facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
• Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.
• Employee will accurately report work time via approved YMCA Clocking Method: Branch Kiosk, YMCA site phone, YMCA iPad, or timesheet.
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings
• Assist with facility tours
• Serve as a YMCA representative at special events
• Attend designated YMCA trainings and certification courses
