Job summary

Grand Traverse Bay YMCA is seeking a part-time Membership Services Representative to welcome members and help them connect with the Y’s programs.

You will deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment, conduct tours, sign up members, and resolve concerns, while upholding the Y's mission and values. The role requires availability evenings and weekends and offers a sign-on bonus for part-time hires.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Understand and support the YMCA's mission and values in behavior.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with strong communication skills.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire (YMCA provided).

Responsibilities

• Responds to the individual needs of members and program participants.
• Provides top-tier service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention and acquisition.
• Conducts interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.
• Builds positive relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
• Serves others by welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, and inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
