Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology (Medical Technology) or equivalent with clinical rotation.
• Completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technologist program or equivalent credential.
• Experience or eligibility in clinical laboratory settings and certifications such as ASCP/AMT/NCA.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and microscopy procedures, including inoculation of solid and liquid media and preparation of stained smears.
• Performs tests for detection/identification of infectious agents and antimicrobial susceptibility.
• Maintains accurate patient reports and participates in quality assurance and improvement programs.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment; conducts preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Participates in education programs and collaborates with clinicians and other professionals.
