Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist to support overnight testing in our Maryland laboratory. The role involves 24 hours per week with 11pm–7:30am shifts on a rotating schedule, including weekends, after an initial day-shift training period.

You will perform routine and specialized testing, ensure quality control and documentation, and provide technical guidance in hematology, coagulation, UA, chemistry, and blood bank while maintaining patient safety and turnaround

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or closely related field is required.
• Certified Medical Lab Scientist - ASCP or equivalent certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates specimen adequacy for test performance and collects specimens.
• Performs routine and specialized testing in assigned areas and interprets results.
• Maintains quality control/quality assurance documentation and follows up on abnormal results.
