Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician for 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.) with rotating weekends and holidays in IL. The role includes performing and evaluating tests, ensuring quality control, and training staff.

Requires a Bachelor's in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology, and ASCP/AMT certification within 1 year. No experience required. Base pay ranges from $24.10 to $46.05 per hour, with benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• ASCP MT or MLS certification within 1 year (or AMT MT).
• No experience required.
• Knowledge of lab safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests per established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and reports results.
• Calibrates, maintains, and repairs instruments; recognizes malfunctions.
• Performs quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and collected per protocol.
• Provides training and supervision to staff and students.
• Supports CAP standards and accreditation requirements.
• Performs proficiency testing and specialty testing as needed.
• Supports critical care departments during high acuity events.
