Advocate Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist to perform and evaluate a broad range of laboratory tests across departments, ensuring timely results and adherence to protocols. You will monitor instrument performance, participate in QA and education, and support critical care areas as needed.

The role requires ASCP certification or equivalent within 12 months, a Bachelor’s in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Technology, and the ability to work a flexible schedule

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences required.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• MT/MLS certification (ASCP) or MT (AMT) certification to be obtained within 1 year.

Aufgaben

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and notifies when inappropriate.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments; detects malfunctions.
• Reviews quality control and QA procedures; takes corrective action.
• Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients per protocol.
• Provides training and technical assistance to staff and students.
