Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a part-time Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the Richmond Health Source Shared Services location. The MLS will perform routine tests on blood and body specimens, ensure accuracy, and provide quality results to physicians.

Minimum BS in CLIA-approved program, MLS certification or eligible, and externship preferred. Competitive pay and benefits offered; compassionate, patient-focused environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required)
• MLS certification or eligible (preferably ASCP)
• Externship program completed (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical tests on biological specimens accurately and timely
• Determine specimen acceptability and identify abnormal results
• Perform quality control and ensure results meet protocols
• Maintain safe work environment and troubleshoot equipment
• Assist with other duties as assigned
