Job summary

Bon Secours is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist for the Richmond Health Source location. The MLS will perform routine tests on blood and other specimens, providing physicians with accurate results while upholding patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications include a B.S. in CLIA-approved program and MLS certification or eligibility. Preference given to externship graduates. This is a full-time role with a 40-hour workweek on days/afternoons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required).
• MLS Certification or eligible by a recognized certifying agency (preferably ASCP) (required).
• Externship program completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens following procedures.
• Determines acceptability of specimens and reviews results for accuracy.
• Maintains equipment and safety with quality control across testing operations.
