Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) for the Richmond Health Source Shared Services to perform routine tests on blood and other specimens with a focus on patient safety and accurate results.

The role requires a B.S. in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field and MLS certification or eligibility (ASCP preferred). Externship completion is preferred, and the candidate will work in a fast-paced clinical environment with strict QA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology or Biochemistry through a CLIA-approved program (required).
• MLS certification or eligible by a national certifying agency (ASCP preferred).
• Externship program completed (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical tests on biological specimens.
• Ensure specimen acceptability via visual checks and results review.
• Maintain quality control and ensure results meet protocols.
• Troubleshoot equipment and maintain a safe lab environment.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
