Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time HB Coding Analyst to join our coding team in Kansas City. The role requires 3 years of acute healthcare experience and coding credentials (RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/COC/CPC).

You will code outpatient visits, manage Evaluation and Management coding, and collaborate with clinical and patient accounting teams to ensure accurate reimbursement. Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and HCPC codes is essential, with a strong focus on coding accuracy (95%+).

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in acute healthcare setting.
• RHIT or RHIA or CCS or CCS-P or COC or CPC.
• AHIMA or AAPC membership.

Responsibilities

• Uses ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 codes for outpatient visit types.
• Assigns Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters.
• Reviews medical records to code diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Collaborates with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and clinical areas on coding reimbursement.
