Job summary

Northwestern Memorial is seeking a part-time HB Coding Analyst in Chicago to serve as the coding and reimbursement expert for ICD-10-CM diagnoses and HCPC codes. The role requires 3 years of acute healthcare experience and professional AHIMA or AAPC credentials.

You will collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and other clinical areas to deliver accurate coding and compliant reimbursements while adhering to coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in acute healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines.
• Ability to interpret documentation for accurate coding.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient visits.
• Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters.
• Review medical records to determine diagnoses and procedures.
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, and case managers to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Ensure coding accuracy following ICD-10-CM guidelines and coding conventions.
