Job summary

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in acute healthcare setting.
• RHIT or RHIA or CCS or CCS-P or COC or CPC.
• AHIMA or AAPC membership.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient visits.
• Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters.
• Review medical records to code diagnoses and procedures.
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting and clinical areas on reimbursement.
• Interpret documentation to report diagnoses and procedures with accuracy.
• Follow ICD-10-CM guidelines and coding clinic resources to maintain 95%+ accuracy.
• Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD or other outpatient edits as assigned.
• Meet minimum coding productivity and quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
