Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking an HB Coding Analyst to provide ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding for outpatient visits with HCPC expertise. This part-time role (20 hours/week) emphasizes accuracy and compliance within a busy healthcare environment.

The analyst collaborates with Patient Accounting, Registration and case managers to optimize reimbursement and ensures adherence to coding guidelines and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in acute healthcare setting.
• RHIT or RHIA or CCS or CCS-P or COC or CPC.
• AHIMA or AAPC membership.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for outpatient visit types.
• Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters.
• Review medical records to code diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration and case managers.
• Interpret documentation to report accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Follow ICD-10-CM guidelines and coding Clinic/HCPC guidance with high accuracy.
• Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD edits and other outpatient claim issues.
• Meet minimum coding productivity and quality standards.
