Job summary

Kaweah Health in Visalia, CA is seeking a Student Nurse Aide for the Medical/Surgical unit to support licensed staff with basic patient care and daily living activities. The position is part-time and falls within a structured hospital training program. Enrollment in an accredited RN program with at least one semester completed is required.

BLS is required; a CA CNA certification is preferred. You will work under RN preceptors, document care in the EMR, and participate in unit duties during day

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Preferred: CA Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Current enrollment in an accredited RN program with at least one semester completed.
• Submission of updated transcript to HR each term and notification of changes in nursing program enrollment.
• Participation in Work Study or Kaweah Health/Unitek partnership is required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the college/university skills competency checklist at all times while working as an SNA.
• Answer patient call lights within two minutes as assigned.
• Assist with activities of daily living and meals.
• Document care in the EMR as soon after care occurs.
• Support RN staff and participate in unit secretary duties as assigned.
