Job summary

Open Door Mission, Inc is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to support meal preparation and service in our food services department, under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor. The role reflects our values of Restoring Hope and Changing Lives while ensuring safe kitchen operations during the 3pm-8pm weekday shifts and Saturday 12-8pm.

You will work with students and volunteers, help with menu planning, and ensure compliance with health standards and safety procedures in a busy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• ServSafe certification or sanitation training completed.
• Previous cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook shift-appropriate meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• Create prep lists and execute prep for next meals.
• Assist students and volunteers in kitchen tasks.
• Clean and maintain kitchen facilities and store equipment properly.
• Handle and store orders and donations safely.
• Assist with menu planning as needed.
• Observe health and safety standards per County Health Dept, USDA and OSHA.
• Attend trainings and meetings as requested.
