Job summary

Cherry Street Mission Ministries in Toledo, OH, seeks a Part-Time Chef to lead hands-on meal preparation in a busy nonprofit kitchen. You will follow established menus, ensure quality and safety, and help provide welcoming hospitality to guests, residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

This role partners with the Food Service Assistant Manager and volunteers to maintain efficient service, proper food handling, and organized kitchen operations across daily meal service and special events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous food service, commercial kitchen, culinary, or large-scale food preparation experience preferred.
• Culinary education, training, or certification preferred but not required.
• Experience preparing food in large quantities preferred.
• Nonprofit or mission-driven experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• The Chef is responsible for hands-on preparation, production, and service of meals across Cherry Street Mission, following established menus and safety standards to ensure quality and hospitality.
• The Chef works with the Food Service Assistant Manager, kitchen staff, volunteers, and guests to support safe, efficient food service operations, including storage, sanitation, and inventory.
